The Journey Of Motherhood

Motherhood and pursuing a career often form a complex puzzle for many women. In a world where professional ambitions and family responsibilities intersect, women face unique challenges and opportunities.

With Mother's Day approaching, it's a beautiful moment to reflect on how motherhood and work go hand in hand. At Grant Thornton, we take pride in the mothers who are part of our team. We recognize the unique challenges they encounter and support them in their pursuit of a successful work-life balance.

In this article, we are delighted to share the inspiring story of our Tax Compliance Manager, Suzy Ilario. She is a shining example of how women can successfully combine motherhood and a flourishing career.

"I believe that it's important for you to find balance in your profession and be a mother first. You need to be aware of what your goals are and what you want to achieve in your life, both for yourself and for what you want to pass on to your children. Without a solid structure in your personal life and professional career, I don't think it will work. And if you enjoy what you're doing, it will be easier. I love my job, and I cherish being a mother to my children.

Everyone who knows me well knows that when I step into the office, I wear my professionalism proudly, and when I leave the office, I switch to the role of motherhood. Being a mother is a blessing from God. I am very proud to be the mother of Tristan, Szean, and Isis.  They are the most beautiful and precious gift in my life. They are the only people who you can truly call your own. They are the reason you work hard, sleep late, wake up early, tolerate things that you wouldn’t have tolerated otherwise, they are the reason you forgive, forget, and do wonderful things.

My advice to all young mothers is to enjoy your children because before you know it, the moments you're experiencing will become memories. I wish you all a wonderful Mother's Day."

To all the mothers out there juggling multiple roles and responsibilities, remember that perfection isn't the goal, doing your best each day and witnessing the smiles on your children's faces are what truly matter.

Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms!
